About Me - Kim Brushaber

Fractional & Executive Product Leader

Turning complex product chaos into clarity teams can actually execute

I work with growing software companies when the product is no longer simple, the stakes are higher, and progress feels harder than it should.

Not because the team is weak.
Because the system has outgrown the way it was built.

I help founders and leadership teams see what is really happening beneath the surface, untangle the noise, and create clarity that lets strong teams deliver again with confidence.

What I Am Known For

• Helping overloaded product teams regain focus without burning out
• Turning massive backlogs and competing priorities into a clear plan
• Translating vision into execution without killing momentum
• Creating alignment across product, engineering, sales, and leadership
• Designing operating systems that scale beyond heroic effort

I have spent more than 20 years working inside complex software organizations across DevOps, databases, application security, telecom, HR tech, and data-heavy platforms. I have led global teams, guided founders through messy growth stages, and helped organizations move from reactive chaos to predictable delivery.

The pattern is always the same.

Once people can see the same picture, the business moves faster and the tension eases.

Impact Snapshot

• 50+ teams supported across startups and global portfolios
• Delivery throughput scaled from 12 to 53 initiatives per quarter
• $50M+ revenue growth driven by customer-aligned prioritization
• Led product across six global brands and multi-region teams

I do not optimize for optics.
I optimize for momentum that holds.

How I Think

Most product problems are not caused by bad ideas.
They are caused by misalignment.

People are working hard, but toward slightly different goals.
Decisions are being made without full context.
Roadmaps exist, but no one fully believes in them.

I fix this by listening first.

I talk to founders, PMs, engineers, sales, support, and customers. Each group holds a different truth. My role is to connect those truths until the real constraints and opportunities become obvious.

My brain is wired for patterns. I see where work gets stuck, where effort is wasted, and where a small shift can unlock disproportionate progress. I treat product as a system of people, process, and priorities. Fixing only one never lasts.

I create clarity through shared understanding, not control. When teams understand why decisions are made, they stop waiting for permission and start executing with confidence.

That is when things finally move.

What Working With Me Feels Like

Relief.

Not because the work disappears, but because it finally makes sense.

Teams stop spinning.
Leadership stops guessing.
Decisions stop being revisited over and over.

People know what matters now, what comes next, and why.

I am often brought in when founders are still deeply involved in day-to-day product decisions, not because they want to be, but because the organization is not yet set up to operate without them.

My work helps leaders step out of the weeds with confidence that their teams can deliver without constant oversight.

What I Care About

I care about the moment when a team finally sees it.

The shared realization that cuts through frustration and replaces it with focus. The moment when work feels lighter because the path forward is clear.

I am motivated by progress that lasts. Systems that scale. Teams that trust each other. Products that are built with intention instead of exhaustion.

Clarity is not just a deliverable.
It is a condition that changes how people show up to work.

How I Work With Companies

I work with companies that are ready to move.

Usually $8M to $50M in revenue.
Usually 30 to 200 people.
Usually past initial product market fit and deep into growing pains.

I may step in as a Fractional CPO, a strategic product partner, or an interim leader. The title matters less than the outcome.

I start by identifying the single most constraining problem.
Then I help the organization solve it in a way that builds lasting capability.

My goal is not dependency.
It is clarity that continues after I leave.

Values That Guide My Work

Clarity over chaos
Empathy over ego
Curiosity over complacency
Accountability over assumption
Momentum over perfection

These are not slogans. They are how progress becomes sustainable.

Ready to talk?

If your product organization feels stuck between vision and execution, we should talk.
Not to sell you something you do not need.
But to see whether clarity is the missing piece.
